The website you have entered is owned and operated by the Atlantic Canada Water and Wastewater Association, referred to as ACWWA from this point onward. 

We are committed to protecting your privacy.  The purpose of this privacy policy is to inform you about the association's practices relating to the collection, use and disclosure of personal information that is collected by ACWWA and this website.  This privacy policy also tells you what to do if you do not want your personal information collected and how you can change or delete information you have already provided to us.

What Personal Information We Collect

Personal information is collected and retained on this website when you, the end user, engages in the following activities with ACWWA.

• Register for training courses and webinars.

• Register for the Annual Conference held by ACWWA.

• Participate in online surveys.

Information collected includes, but is not limited to:

• Email Address

• Employer

• Address

• Shirt Size (required for the annual Water For People Fun Run)

 

How ACWWA uses your personal information

ACWWA will use your information to develop and maintain our relationship with you and to communicate with you.  This is done via the following:

• Email confirmations of registrations and payments.

• Email confirmations and results of completed online surveys and contact forms.

 

When We Disclose Your Personal Information

ACWWA does not sell, share, license, trade, rent or permit access to personal information to others outside the ACWWA Executive Board and Committee Chairs.  A complete list of the Executive Board and Committee chairs can be found on our Contact Us page.  ACWWA reserves the right to co-operate fully with local, provincial/state and federal officials in any investigation relating to any personal information (including private electronic communications transmitted on the ACWWA website) or any purported unlawful activities.

ACWWA collects personal information only when you voluntarily provide it.  If you don’t want us to have access to your personal information, please do not provide it while using our site.

Cookies & IP Addresses

ACWWA does not directly use cookies on its websites.  However, ACWWA uses a third party software which does log IP addresses of visitors that complete online surveys.  These IP addresses are stored on the ACWWA web server.

 

How We Protect Your Personal Information

ACWWA makes all reasonable efforts to ensure that personal information collected from you is protected against loss and unauthorized access.  Access to your personal information is restricted to the Executive Board and Committee Chairs of ACWWA.   A complete list of the Executive Board and Committee Chairs can be found on our Contact Us page.

Our best effort is made to apply all patches and upgrades required for security reasons on our website.

Our server and hosting company is located in Canada. Your data is not subject to the US patriot act.

All online payments require credit card transactions.  These transactions are all conducted on Beanstream servers on behalf of ACWWA.  Beanstream has been a trusted eCommerce partner since 2000.  More information on the Beanstream payment processor can be found at http://www.beanstream.com/public/index.asp.  Your credit card details are never seen nor stored by our servers. 

 

Retention of Your Personal Information

ACWWA does not, at this time, have any policy for purging collected information.  If you want personal information removed from the website please contact the Website Chair, found under Committee Chairs on our Contact Us page.

Children’s Privacy

ACWWA believes that it is very important to protect the privacy of children and encourages parents or guardians to spend time with their children to participate in and monitor their activities.  To the best of our knowledge the ACWWA website does not contain any material of interest to children.  ACWWA does not intend to collect personal information from children, should we be aware that we have such information in our database it will promptly be deleted. We also ensure that all advertising, sponsorship and promotional activity is not targeted at those under the age of 13.

The ACWWA website offers links to other websites which ACWWA does not control.  You should be aware that operators of linked websites may also collect your personal information (including information generated through the use of cookies) when you link to their websites.
