SCHOLARSHIP & FUNDS COMMITTEE

Duties

The Scholarship & Funds Committee is responsible for coordinating the award of our four annual Lloyd Douglas Scholarships, one in each of the Atlantic provinces.  More details about this and other scholarships are shown below.

 The Scholarship & Funds Committee falls under the Technical Director and is comprised of:

James K. Edzwald Scholarship

The AWWA American Water Works Association has available scholarships for graduate-level students. The newest scholarship is the James K. Edzwald Scholarship.

AWWA / ACWWA Operator Fund

American Water Works Association, The Water Equation Campaign and the Atlantic Canada Water and Wastewater Association (ACWWA) support the funding for the “One AWWA Operator Scholarship”. The Associations award up to $2000 for Atlantic Canadian Water Operator training and education.

$2000 is available each year and the application form remains accessible until all funds for that year are utilized.

ABEA Annual Scholarship

At the 2011 ABEA AGM, held in St. John’s NL, it was decided that the Atlantic Branch Equipment Association would support four (4) / $1000 scholarships for the sons/daughters, of ACWWA/ABEA members, intending to pursue a career related to the water / wastewater industry, and those choosing to study in Atlantic Canada.  More information on eligibility and the application process/deadlines can be found HERE.
