Viability qPCR, a rapid tool for detecting Legionella pneumophila in Cooling towers

Research and Productivity Council RPC is an ISO17025 accredited laboratory for analysis ofLegionella pneumophila , the causative agent of legionnairees disease. Currently offering this testing using the third-generation culture plating and developing rapidLegionella viability qPCR Detection assay for source tacking and controlling disease outbreaks predominantly associated with Cooling towers. RPCes Moncton Laboratory is currently running a cooling tower trial to validate the method and hope to offer this rapid qPCR detection service soon.
