Meeting Evolving Performance Requirements for Iron and Manganese Reduction in Groundwater
Rick Sen (MAGNOR)
Iron and manganese are found commonly in groundwater throughout Canada and whose limits in drinking water have been governed by the Canadian Drinking Water Guidelines which have recently established lower aesthetic objectives specifically for manganese of 0.02 mg/L - a limit that is being steadily adopted on the provincial level across the country. Since iron and manganese are often removed together, we would like to address the various technologies and approaches that can be used and offer a guide in selecting the appropriate treatment system for any given application.
