Who's ready for the 2024 ACWWA Annual Conference? Remember when we used to do water and sewer jeopardy at previous conferences? ‘ Well, weere bringing it back, just in a slightly different format.’ This year the format will be TRIVIA! Greatario is our sponsor and Tony Whalen is our host.’ 

The format will include five rounds of questions. ‘ Answers will be written out, so not multiple choice.’ Weere thinking of teams six to eight people depending upon how much interest there is. ‘ Prizes will go’ to the top three teams.

ROUND 1

10 general technical questions about water and sewer. ’ For example, name the 4 main THMs found in drinking water.

ROUND 2

10 questions about movies and TV series that have references in them to water or sewer. ’ For example, what was the name of the movie where a Southern California community had their water contaminated with chromium-6 and who was the star of that movie?

ROUND 3

5 speed round questions. ‘ Each team will nominate someone to do this one.’ Again, water and sewer will be the theme. ‘ Whoever has their hand up first once the question is asked will respond.’ Points will be awarded for correct answers and points will be lost for incorrect answers. ’ For example, what is the main reason large cities started to need wastewater treatment?

ROUND 4

10 questions that will provide facts about various bodies of water around the world and you have to name it. ‘ For example,’ what is the artificial sea-level waterway in Egypt, connecting the Mediterranean Sea to the Red Sea?

ROUND 5

10 audio clips will be played, and you will have to name the song title and the artists. ‘ All songs will include or be about water or sewer.’ For example, Waterfalls by TLC.
